On Wednesday, 2025-04-30, our team identified some issues in the Topology view due to incorrect tagging.
On Friday, 2025-05-02 at 9:00UTC, our team identified that this was caused by a bug in our data analysis infrastructure pipeline that had the potential to result in similar inconsistencies. In order to address this, we performed a rollback of all of the data analysis backend infrastructure. Most analytic pipelines were not affected by this rollback, and telemetry data will be visible as expected.
However, between 12:00 UTC and 14:00 UTC, for a subset of derived analytics data, there was an unexpected incompatibility between the version we rolled back to and a database component. Once we identified the issue with the rollback, we identified that this subset was not affected by the original bug and we reverted the rollback.
The impact of this data gap is that when you are viewing historical telemetry from this period of time you will see incomplete data on the Pathfinder, UNO, or Endpoints pages.
We've identified the bug in our database ingestion layer that caused this incompatibility, as normally it is safe to rollback. We are also conducting a postmortem investigation to come up with specific action items to prevent this from reoccurring in the future.
